Christopher Markland’s love of reading began during his childhood in Jamaica, where he gravitated toward books of every kind. After moving to the United States, he continued to develop a deep appreciation for storytelling that would later shape his writing.

Inspired by acclaimed romance writers Eric Jerome Dickey, Carl Weber, and E. Lynn Harris, Christopher set out to tell the stories that had been brewing within him. He made his debut in contemporary African American fiction with Desperately Seeking Exclusivity, the first novel in the Desperately Seeking Collection, a series of interconnected standalone romances exploring love, commitment, desire, and personal growth. His work focuses on the emotional choices people make while navigating relationships and the unintended consequences that follow.

He currently lives in the metro Atlanta area with his family and is working on future installments in the Desperately Seeking Collection, along with several additional projects.
